Job Description

Principle Purposes of Position:
The Coordinator of Youth Programs is responsible for the strengthening, encouraging, and developing the relationship between the youth and Jesus Christ within their families, in the church body and within the community. The primary focus of this position will be with the youth from middle school through high school age with a secondary focus on the families through various outreach opportunities.

Supervision:
This position will be directly supervised by the Senior Pastor and will have the support of the Director of Children and Youth Programs.

Time Commitment:
This individual will work between 10 and 15 hours per week as needed. Time will vary due to trips, meetings, and other events.
A timesheet must be submitted to the Ministry Assistant on each Tuesday for work completed the prior week. Timesheets may be digitally submitted or a paper copy.

Specific Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate youth activities a minimum of once per week.

Work with the Director of Children and Youth to select curriculum, supplemental materials, and other items for:
ï‚· Sunday School
ï‚· VBS
ï‚· Youth Bible Study

Hold office hours as needed. Hours will need to be posted. Alternate schedules to account for outside activities (trips, events, and other opportunities) are to be approved by the Senior Pastor.

Maintain communication with youth and their families, church staff and all other church members as needed. This includes information for the Sunday bulletin, FB page updates, church newsletters, the church website, e-mail communications, texts, One Call Now, and church business meetings. These messages should pertain to the activities, events, special recognitions, and other news that serve the youth of the church.

Have input and maintain a yearly budget for the Youth department in connection with the Director of Children and Youth Programs and finance committee.

Support the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) ministry of our church in corporation with the
Batesburg-Leesville Middle and High Schools.

Administer FBCB adopted policies and procedures concerning the use of the church property,
equipment, facilities, and supplies.

Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the Senior Pastor.

This job description is not exhaustive and may be adjusted at any time to fit the needs of the FBCB membership and ministries.

Requirements and Qualifications:

The Coordinator of Youth Programs will: 

ï‚· Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

ï‚· Demonstrate their personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to glorify God in
all things.

ï‚· Exemplify priority commitment to their family and Biblical leadership within their home.

ï‚· Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical character in keeping with the calling of Jesus
Christ.

ï‚· Demonstrate a passion for bringing children and youth to a greater understanding and
relationship with Jesus Christ.

ï‚· Willing to continue with education and ministry related study – including conferences and
events designed for personal, spiritual and ministry growth.

Addition Qualifications:
ï‚· Proficient in Microsoft Office
ï‚· Proficient with the use of various forms on social media as a ministry tool.
ï‚· Organizational skills
ï‚· The ability to coordinate with others, multi-task or time block to ensure that the programs are
running smoothly.
ï‚· Willing to learn and become proficient in software and equipment available to their position.
